Internal LDAP connection doesn't work

Hello, I'm trying this method for connecting an external LDAP utility to the internal Gluu directory: https://gluu.org/docs/ce/operation/faq/#connect-an-external-ldap-browser My attempts were unsuccessful. The suggestion to "Forward the 1636 the same way as you did with the debug ports above" is really unclear. Which service in /etc/defaults should a forward be added to and in what format? Can someone elaborate what is necessary to achieve this? Thanks

Hi, Ian. I'm not sure why do you think it's unclear. It referes to previous chapter in the doc which shows how you can forward a remote port using SSH. You can find a lot of SSH port forwarding examples if you google for it as well, this part is not in any way specific to Gluu Server.

Aha, I see now! I thought the reference was to adding the -Xrunjdwp parameter to init.d scripts. I totally missed the ssh tunneling part. Of course that works, thanks!
