How do I configure a separately installed shibboleth IDP

I have installed the community edition of gluu-server, and as far as I can it is not bundled with the shibboleth IDP, so I installed shibboleth separately how do I tie the two together. I can't find any documentation on this.

The way we do this in the Gluu Server is with a custom login handler that sends the authentication to oxAuth using OpenID Connect. BTW, we plan to release a package to do this very soon under a commercial subscription.
