GLUU Login Succeeded. Have all used ports open on the firewall: 443, 80, 4444, 1389, 1636, 1689. Go to Login page and enter "admin" any the exact ldap password found in: setup.properties.last file. Login fails. I an add logs if I knew which log to add.

Hi, Kelly Logs you will be particular interested in can be found in /opt/tomcat/logs/ (from within a chroot-ed container). First of all, does your machine meet Gluu's minimal requirements? You must run it under 64 bit OS, have at least 2,5GB of RAM, with Tomcat's allocation limit set to at least 1,5GB (you are asked about this when running setup.py script; it's also a default value) 'tail -F' the wrapper.log, then flush your browser's cookies and try to log in again, while paying attention on any errors or warnings that may appear. Provide us all your findings, and we will try to figure out what is happening. You also can consult our short troubleshooting guide [here](https://github.com/GluuFederation/docs/blob/master/sources/faq/troubleshooting.md). Regards, Alex.

Could you also provide a screenshot of login page after your unsuccessful login attempt?

If you just have installed it, you most likely are using the latest build, but just in case: what is the output of "rpm -qi gluu-server" command?

Also, what is the output of "getenforce"?

Thanks, Kelly. It seems I will need to set up a clean vm and do a test install there. I can't find explanation for what I see in log you provided, it may be a bug in new release.

Aliaksandr, if you want, I can give you temporary access to the VM so you can poke around. Let me know.. if that would help.

Kelly, can you remember which modules you chose when your were running setup.py script?

> Aliaksandr, if you want, I can give you temporary access to the VM so you can poke around. That would be useful, indeed. I haven't thought about that option, usually it's not possible when offering help to CE users :) Still, attempting to set it up under clean OS at another box is a necessary step - if it will be reproduced there too then that's clearly a bug, and we won't need to waste time on additional troubleshooting.

Kelly, I was able to log in to my fresh instance of Gluu successfully, though it still possible that the issue occurs only when specific selection of settings is provided during setup. If you still don't mind to provide me access to this vm, I could have a look.

Hi Kelly, For our community support, we can't SSH into your box and troubleshoot. Kind regards, Zico

Hi Zico, If you look at the posting before yours you will see that Aliaksandr Samuseu on your staff requested access to our VM.

Kelly, I think it's our responsibility to educate you how to handle any issue/troubleshooting, as you are our partner. Let's move forward on that way. Alex, Let's install a server from scratch and give every command through pastebin to Kelly as he can understand what's missing where.

Whatever works for you guys. Happy to work within it. Sound like you don;t need access to my server any more, so I will shut down access at this point. Thanks,

I'm sorry, Kelly, we will have to comply to the policies Zico has mentioned. I will provide you a step by step guidelines on how to install the fresh instance of Gluu, so can I ask you to remove the one that is currently installed? Here is a few commands that will help you to do it: 1) service gluu-server stop 2) yum remove gluu-server 3) rm -f -r /opt/gluu-server.*

I have having the same problem with my Gluu Server. When I do a clean installation on a newly virtualized server it works. When I do a re-installation on a the same server it doesn't work. What I mean is that that I can access the login page but the default credentials that I used during installation do not work. I used: UN: admin PW: password Here is a playlist of documentation: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLX6sen8jMcfBNiShJ-V5kFkmDCZHaWSkH I would love to pay for hourly support or something similar, but I don't think there is such a thing. The support contract for businesses is too expensive for me. I am evaluating this software for my organization. (government command agency) Please advise on how I can resolve this issue. I have been working on the setup of Gluu Server and an simple client using the apache module and I have not had much success at all. I am not familiar with OpenDJ but I would love if there was a command I could run to bind to the server and update the password for users directly. I have a GUI for LDAP and I will try using that. Thanks, Adrian

I am trying to bind to the OpenDJ LDAP server and I have having a problem. Could anyone help with a suggestion? I am using SSH tunneling and an application call JExplorer. Hi Adrian, >> https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLX6sen8jMcfBNiShJ-V5kFkmDCZHaWSkH Nice video. :) Couple of points I would love to add here: - Better not to use such big Amazon hostname. Personally when I try Amazon instance, I completely change my VM's hostname to something easier (i.e. zico.gluu.org ) and install Gluu Server with such hostname. - If you want to re-run 'setup.py', it's better to uninstall the Gluu-Server first. - For authentication problem, you can check (inside container) log: /opt/tomcat/logs/oxauth.log. Most probably you are unable to log into your server with 'admin' account because there might be some internal certificate issue ( something like, Gluu Server wasn't able to prepare proper certificate with such big hostname ).

>> I am trying to bind to the OpenDJ LDAP server and I have having a problem. Could anyone help with a suggestion? You need to do reverse tunneling to achieve that. Here are my commands, I am trying to browse my Gluu Server's LDAP from my computer's Jxplorer: - ssh -i /Users/Zico/.ssh/id_rsa -L 5900:localhost:1389 root@mygluuserver.gluu.org - In Jxplorer: - Host: localhost - Port 5900 - DSML Service: blank - Base DN: blank - Level: Username+Password - User DN: cn=directory manager - Password: that password which you used during installation ( that is the LDAP administrator password )

Hi, Adrian. On your screenshot your jxplorer's connection settings you doesn't provide base dn string. You should try to use something like "o=gluu" (without quotes, most of Gluu's stuff are there) or "o=site", or "cn=config" for it.

Awesome awesome awesome! I'm going to give that a try. This is a great help. :-) If I can't rerun the setup script, how should I reconfigure GLUU between starts and stops of the EC2 instance? I think only the external DNS and IP address are changing, but I'm not always sure what causes the problem. I'll be happy to create a video to show this, i'm just a noob at using GLUU and chroot. :-) Is there any good way to understand the effect of running all these services with chroot on a server? It seems like there is a double presence of all the services on the server now, but only 1 set gets turned on and works. For example, I can start the GLUU and native instances of httpd, but I don't know what this will do to the server. Thanks again for the great help! Adrian

It seems like there is a double presence of all the services on the server now, but only 1 set gets turned on and works. Gluu Server actually care about container. There are basically three services, (i) tomcat (ii) opendj and (iii) httpd. You can check all their status with 'service opendj status' and all. >> For example, I can start the GLUU and native instances of httpd, but I don't know what this will do to the server. As I said.. Gluu Server care about container services.
