Hello, We have Gluu 3.1.3 (with OpenLDAP) installed on 2 servers behing a Nginx proxy. We would like to upgrade to 3.1.6 and move to the OpenDJ directory (with functional replication). I am confused with what is exactly needed to achieve HA/clustering. Am I right to say that we need a separate server for Redis? If so, can we install it on a CentOS 7? The clustering page in the 3.1.6 doc mentions only Ubuntu 18.04. Also, is it recommended to also have Redis installed on 2 servers ? (to avoid problems with a single Redis node being unavailable). Also, what is the purpose of the Cluster manager exactly? Is it needed or does it simply make it easier to configure and manage the cluster (but not mandatory)? Thanks

I would highly recommend Cluster Manager. You have support, so you have a license to use it already included in your subscription. The purpose of Cluster Manager is to make it easier to deploy and manage clusters. It sets up LDAP multi-master replication, multiple redis cache servers, file system replication, stunnel (to make sure there is a secure enrcyrpted channel between oxAuth and Redis), centralized logging, and several other pieces necessary for HA. Using Cluster Manager, it's also much easier for Gluu to support your clustered deployment, because you will have a standardized deployment. Perhaps you can schedule an hour call with Zico to go over cluster manager. Once you understand it, I think we can help you start planning your migration.
